Groundwork underway for Dwell Housing Trust 12 new homes

Following demolition, the team worked through some more challenging excavation and foundation conditions than anticipated. With these resolved, August brought a welcome shift into construction, with reinforcing installed, concrete ground beams poured, and waterproofing and reinforced concrete wall works progressing. Blockwork also got underway towards this month month, marking the start of the building taking shape above ground.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been busy preparing for the next stages. Structural steel, pre-nail frames and the Traydec flooring system have progressed through detailing and manufacture, while the cross-laminated timber (CLT) floor panels have moved through design approval and production. Window and external door sizes have also been coordinated to keep procurement moving.

Our site team, subcontractors and consultants have put in a great effort to get us to this point. Heading into September, the focus is on completing the blockwork, installing structural steel and preparing the Level 1 floor. We’re looking forward to building momentum and seeing these future homes take shape.
