Porirua Pacific Island Church of Christ the King
205a Champion Street, Cannons Creek, Porirua
We are proud to be delivering the redevelopment of the Pacific Islanders Church of Christ the King Community Hall in Cannons Creek, Porirua.
For nearly 60 years, Porirua Pacific Island Church of Christ the King has been an important part of the Cannons Creek community – a place of worship, gathering and connection for generations of Pacific families and the wider community.
The redevelopment designed by Ignite Architecture, will provide a modern, purpose-built, safe and accessible facility that supports the Church’s growing congregation and its ongoing role within the community.
Construction includes:
- demolition and site enabling works;
- civil works, earthworks and new foundations;
- structural steel and timber construction;
- new roofing and external cladding;
- new mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire services;
- a high-quality, robust interior fit-out; and
- associated siteworks and landscaping.
Working within an established community environment requires careful management of site access, deliveries and neighbouring properties, along with close consideration of the surrounding church, school and early childhood communities throughout construction.
The project is about more than delivering a new building. It is about working alongside the Church, consultants, subcontractors and local community to create a high-quality facility that respects the strong connection people already have with this place, while providing a modern and enduring space that will continue to bring people together for generations to come.
