Wrapping up at Herbert Gardens

Our team has thoroughly enjoyed their time at Herbert Gardens and will be sad to wrap things up over the coming weeks as this significant strengthening and refurbishment project nears completion.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of the team delivering works at Herbert Gardens. A truly unique project where no two apartments were the same, all while carrying out major construction works within a fully occupied building.

Over the past 12 months, our team has worked carefully alongside residents to deliver complex strengthening solutions while respecting that Herbert Gardens is far more than just a building, it’s a community. The understanding, patience and resilience shown by residents throughout the project has been genuinely appreciated by everyone involved on site.

This project has involved an enormous amount of coordination, collaboration and problem-solving from all parties involved. Together with our consultant teams, subcontractors and labour crews, we’ve successfully navigated some incredibly challenging works, including:
• Installation of 1,318 strengthening brackets — including 174 core brackets and 1,144 precast panel brackets
• Removal of 2,700m² of textured ceiling asbestos — more than the area of four tennis courts
• Demolition of 1,014m² of blockwork — equivalent to 12,675 concrete blocks and over 250 tonnes of material
• More than 300 people inducted to site throughout the duration of the project, with an average workforce of 70–80 people onsite each day

A huge thank you to our consultant teams, labour crews and subcontractors whose professionalism, cooperation and commitment helped make this project possible, and to the Herbert Gardens residents for the support shown throughout the journey.
