Shear walls are the talk at Drifter
The internal strip out and demolition within the building is nearing completion, enabling preparation works for forming shear walls through the building to really progress. The shear walls are currently being poured in the basement and on the ground floor, with tying of reinforcing steel progressing further up the building.
The team are enjoying finding the odd surprise or interesting detail from when the building was originally constructed nearly 100 years ago, as well as working through methodologies to ensure the original character of the building is maintained. Removal of heritage elements and storage for reuse is also nearing completion. Focus will soon turn to reinstatement of heritage elements as the structural works are completed on the ground floor.
There is a solid effort being put in on site presently by our concrete and carpentry crews, as well as key subcontractors and suppliers Acrow Limited, Russel Placement Limited, Multicivil Contractors Ltd, Refurb Plus Ltd, ReoFab, Podium Concrete, and Higgins Concrete.
