This project involves the replacement of the southern facade of the Airport Retail Park building at 2 George Bolt Street, Rongotai.
The Airport Retail Park (ARP) building was built in the 1960’s, and has since deteriorated from its original condition following years of exposure to the coastal environment. In order to remediate structural integrity and water ingress issues the existing concrete panels on the Southern facade of the building will be removed and replaced with a lightweight external cladding system.
The scope of works include:
– installation of new lightweight cladding system with associated steelwork support
– remedial work to existing corroded steelwork where required
– temporary support and bracing, and temporary weathertight solutions to the building whilst the work is being undertaken
– removal of the existing concrete facade panels
– ensuring that the retail building remains secure over the duration of the works, including providing temporary walls or barriers as necessary
The retail tenants of the building will remain operating throughout the duration of the project, so minimising our disruption to them is of utmost importance and always top of mind.
