Bluebridge Connemara – Pōhutukawa Lounge

The Aoraki team set sail for work on this unique project!

This was definitely a unique project for our team, who really enjoyed the challenge and constant change of scenery. All of the demolition and construction took place while the ship remained in service, meaning 10-hour shifts travelling back and forth across the Cook Strait.

The scope of this project included:
– the internal soft strip/demolition of the existing 26x Deck 6 passenger cabins
– new passenger premium lounge construction
– refurbishment of Deck 5 toilets and amenities, in a staged manner so as to always have facilities available for passengers

The work was undertaken in collaboration with Taylor Bros Marine who provided or supervised any specialist trades/materials, and the Bluebridge team.
