Construction Capabilities

Health & safety, environmental & quality

With Aoraki on board, you are covered. We take care of safety, quality and environmental care - so you can focus on the results.

Our systems are governed by our three key policies:

Health & Safety Policy

Environmental Policy

Qualify Policy

At Aoraki, our structure is built for practical, hands-on risk management. From the gate wearing Aoraki hats and vests to the boardroom, our team drive both culture and construction, fostering high performance at every level.

It’s the people on the ground and the strong relationships we cultivate that make the difference, keeping projects moving, meeting time and quality targets, and maintaining safety every day.

Managing health & safety

Safety is our priority. We foster safe behaviours, teamwork, and care for everyone on site, supported by independently verified systems from +IMPAC Safety Prequal

As PCBUs (person conducting a business or undertaking) under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, we provide a project-specific Construction Project Management Plan (CPMP) to keep construction efficient and safe. It sets out our site systems, quality checkpoints, and manages all Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements.

All visitors sign in and are escorted by an inducted team member, and every worker completes a site induction before starting on our sites. A weekly-updated hazard board with contractor details and contact information keep workers, visitors, and the public informed of ongoing construction hazards.

Environmental and sustainability

From planning to delivery, our policies ensure environmentally responsible practices are built into everything we do.

Our Environmental Policy has been a foundation of our operations since 2019, sitting alongside our Safety and Quality Policies. We are committed to continually improving the way our construction activities impact the environment, ensuring sustainability is embedded in everything we do.

As part of our management systems, we have developed a comprehensive suite of documents and tools designed to help us actively manage and reduce our environmental footprint, including:

  • Environmental Management Plan (EMP)
  • Silt & sediment control, water management and pollution prevention
  • Site Waste Management Plan
  • Hazardous substance and materials control
  • Contaminated land management
  • Archaeology and heritage aspects management

Systems and checklists are used to develop the Site Waste Management and Environmental Management Plans for each project.

Quality systems

As Main Contractor, we make sure every project meets its quality standards across contracts, plans, consents, and legislation so that both materials and workmanship are of the highest standard

Our team’s expertise ensures every project is built right. Using Procore, a construction software we plan, procure, and manage works in full compliance with contract documents.

Project-specific Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s), procurement schedules, and shop drawings are all prepared to keep quality and compliance on track. We maintain a formal prequalification process for subcontractors, certified under our +IMPAC PreQual certification.

Regular walkthroughs with trades allow us to address issues directly and discuss plans for resolution.

Using Procore, we manage inspections and defects in real time – tracking issues, notifying trades, and giving clients full transparency throughout project close-out.
